A therapy that has been shown to be effective in treating various types of psychological trauma, anxiety, and depression.
Several of our counselors are trained in the use of EMDR. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic modality used to treat many conditions, but most often trauma. This is accomplished by reprocessing old memories in the present while incorporating bilateral stimulation. Bilateral stimulation can be accomplished through eye movements, tapping, or the use of lights.
If you are interested in EMDR therapy, please talk with your counselor and they will be happy to answer any questions you may have and help guide you in selecting the best treatment approaches for your specific situation.
