We recognize that beginning counseling can be an intimidating process. So here are three simple steps to get started.
Our aim for the initial meetings is to get to know you and ensure you feel comfortable. In our first session, we'll discuss what brings you to our office and gather background information that will assist us in helping you achieve your goals. Together, we'll create a personalized plan for your therapy. The first session lasts 45 minutes, with subsequent sessions being 45 minutes each.
The duration of therapy depends on the reasons for your visit. For relatively straightforward issues, therapy may last from 12 weeks to 6 months. More complex and long-standing problems might require a year or more. Your motivation plays a crucial role in the length and effectiveness of therapy. Research shows that highly motivated individuals are more likely to experience positive outcomes and achieve them more quickly. Conversely, a lack of motivation or effort can prolong the therapy process or lead to early termination, potentially worsening your symptoms. Commitment and effort in therapy are essential for success.
We do not accept insurance and operate on a fee-for-service basis, with payment due at the time of service. We invite you to contact us to discuss our fees or payment methods in advance.
After scheduling your first session, you will receive an email with a link to complete the intake forms online prior to the session. Please complete the forms as soon as possible so that your counselor has time to review them thoroughly prior to the session.
